From littlegobbelins at hobogoblins.com Mon May 5 23:33:54 2008 From: littlegobbelins at hobogoblins.com (littlegobbelins@hobogoblins.com) Date: Wed May 7 08:01:18 2008 Subject: [Littlegobbelins] Goblins and drag kings Message-ID: <40563.9092.qm@web32503.mail.mud.yahoo.com> The Hobo Gobbelins present: Sunday, May 11: at the Oak Grove Tree-Sit Piedmont Ave and Bancroft Way, Berkeley 2pm, with Andrea Pritchett and Joshua Eden. You?ve heard about the big ongoing showdown between the tree-sitters and the UC Berkeley Regents. Well, the tree folks are celebrating over 500 days of activist presence, and certain demonstrators have specifically requested that the Hobo Gobbelins play at the site, so we?re honored to have this opportunity to support them. Come and check out the site of history?s longest urban tree-sit (amid all those fences and police barricades, just north of the International House). Bring mom (it?s Mother?s Day). Given that the grove is ancient Native American burial ground, the demonstrators prefer that we do our drinking off-site (like across Piedmont Ave ?- not far). We will pass the hat for donations to their cause. And expect police presence... you know what that means. See you there! (See our MySpace page for additional shows: MySpace.com/hobogobbelins) And I know you didn?t ask, but if you want to see Julia do her drag king thang, you?ve got 2 chances this week. And they will be distinct, so come to both. Wednesday night, May 7, and every Wednesday, come check out the East Bay Kings Club?s very fabulous drag-king show at the White Horse (Telegraph and 65th St in Oakland). A show not to be missed! Don?t come before 9pm or you?ll be bored. A very reasonable $ 3 cover. Friday night, May 9, a Cabaret/variety show at the home of the fabulous Seeley Quest! Seeley has been setting up alternative entertainment since forever, and will therefore attract some pretty phat talent. 2824 E. 9th St, Oakland, 94601. Food 6-8pm, performances 8pm sharp. Be prepared for everything gender-queer under the sun. Sounds good to me?
